Wallis and Matilda On Tour
Wallis and Matilda may not have been the first to set music to the ballads of Banjo Paterson, but they have certainly been the most consistent.
Since 1980 they have released four tribute albums of his work, and their musical catalogue now includes over 40 of Paterson's finest poems.
The first of these tribute albums, Pioneers, included several of Paterson's classic poems all of which received extensive airplay including Clancy of the Overflow, The Man from Ironbark and of course the epic, The Man from Snowy River.
The Pioneers album achieved platinum award status and was also nominated for the Heritage Album of the Year awards at Tamworth Country Music Festival in the same year.
a successful return to the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2004-2008, John Wallis and Colin Perkins (the group originators)
will be taking a break in 2009 and 2010 as they are busy putting the finishing touches to their new collection "Wallis and Matilda the complete Anthology 1895-2010".
