Wallis
and Matilda On Tour
Wallis and Matilda may not have been the first to set music to the ballads of Banjo Paterson, but they have certainly been the most consistent. Since 1980 they have released four tribute albums of his work, and their musical catalogue now includes over 40 of Paterson's finest poems.
The Pioneers album achieved platinum award status and was also nominated for the Heritage Album of the Year awards at Tamworth Country Music Festival in the same year. Tamworth Country Music Festival 2008 Following a successful return to the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2004-2007, John Wallis and Colin Perkins (the group originators) will be performing performing special 'unplugged' versions of their Wallis & Matilda concerts on Wednesday January 23rd, Thursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th at the North Tamworth Bowling Club, cnr Bligh and Piper Streets, Tamworth. These special 'unplugged' concerts will feature many of the Banjo Paterson classics as well as a new batch of poems from the newly released 'Song of the Federation' CD. It promises to be a very unique musical experience capturing the spirit and emotion of the bushland that moved Paterson to poetry. A truly modern expression of the old Australia, a unique blend of music and poetry as you will have never experienced before. We hope to see
you there. Coming Tours: Williamstown Craft Market Tamworth
